Advanced Youth Fitness Swim Club

Fitness Swimming for Kids (Grades 7-12)

Skill building, fitness, and fun are the focus of this group. This class is designed for kids in Grades 7-12 that are proficient in freestyle and backstroke and also have knowledge of breast and butterfly. This is a fitness class aimed at becoming stronger swimmers and staying fit for High School swimming.

Marlins Swim Club

Available for ages 7-17 (Age 6 is skills are proficient).

Marlins is a developmental swim team that provides an entry-level swim team experience. The Marlins gives swimmers a chance to learn stroke development and age-appropriate conditioning without the focus being on competition. The Marlins is a great next step after the YMCA Swim Lesson Program.

Swimmers will learn:

  • All Four Strokes
    • Butterfly
    • Breaststroke
    • Backstroke
    • Freestyle
  • Race Skills
  • Team building activities that will encourage friendship, teamwork, and confidence

Prerequisites for Marlins Swim Club

  • Must be able to swim:
    • 25 Yards Freestyle
    • 25 Yards Backstroke
    • Tread for 2 Minutes

Fall & Spring Practice Times:
Monday & Wednesday: 5:00PM-7:00PM or Tuesday & Thursday 5:00PM-7:00PM

  • Level 1 Practice: 5:00PM-6:00PM
  • Level 2 Practice: 6:00PM-7:00PMMarlins Swim Club Fall and Spring Sessions do not participate in swim meets.

Marlins Summer League

Available for ages 7-17 (Age 6 is skills are proficient).

This swim club will take part of the Mississippi Coast Swim League. The Marlins Swim Team will compete in 4 swim meets and 1
championship meet. Must be able to perform at least 2 strokes proficiently.

Summer Practice Times:
Monday-Friday 4:00PM-6:00PM

  • Level 1 Practice: 4:00PM-5:00PM
  • Level 2 Practice: 5:00PM-6:00PM

Master’s Swim Club

Available for ages 18+ (Adults Only)

Master’s is for anyone 18 and older looking to become more efficient in the water and reach new goals. This swim club is for fitness, competitive, and open water swimmers, triathletes, or athletes looking to add swimming to their workout for cross-training.

Swimmers must currently be lap swimmers and able to swim several lengths of freestyle with side breathing. Master’s is not a Learn-to-Swim Program.

A coach will provide workouts and stroke corrections to help swimmers gain technique and endurance.
